Too soon!

I'm sick sick sick of all the Christmas advertising already and we're not even halfway through November
I mean REALLY sick of it.
So much hype and build up...we even get tasters of the big ones before they're released now.
The man in the moon one is very sweet but I'm heartily sick of it now!

Why oh why can't everyone hold back until December?
It would be so much more enjoyable

Re: Too soon!

Oh, get over it. It's been this way for years and years and every year the same complaints. Face it - people start their shopping as early as possible and the ads play up to our greed and panic. The days of quiet cosy Christmas shopping a week beforehand are long gone.

Re: Too soon!

Ruthio I haven't seen any as yet. But to be fair any programmes I want to watch I tape them and watch them later and fast forward through the ads, as I am usually watching the sports channel.

I haven't even been round a store with any music playing or decorations up as yet.

Mind you we are away from Wednesday so will probably get my quota then.

Re: Too soon!

I quite enjoyed looking at the Xmas stuff in Asda today, something interesting instead of plain old shopping.

I don't mind seeing stuff now so much, it's just when it starts in September it gets on my wick.

Re: Too soon!

Hi

A traditionalist.

My tree will be put up Christmas Eve and my fresh guinea fowl collected the day before.

The goose and pheasant will fall from the sky a week before.

A long family tradition, I remember the same with my Grandfather.

Presents, I must admit, have already been purchased.

Thank goodness for that, I was beginning to wish I'd kept my big gob shut after all

Re: Too soon!

I love Christmas and yes Ive already started the prep but thats because I make a lot of things myself.

Having said that I do think mid Novemeber is early enough for ads, shop decorations and trees to start going up.. The sale of cards I understand as some people will need to send abroad but the rest could wait another week or two...
