bottle refund scheme gets green light

bottle refund scheme gets green light ( metro news ) 28.03.18

we have not heeded
but now will get on the bicycle
maybe this is what we needed
to encourage the recycle.
the sea and land is at fault
david attenborough will make you think
just saw my last bottle of malt
on the beech and over the shoulder after drink.
obviously no one listening
empty are all recycling boxes
the constant show of damage is blistering
from saving the earth everyone detoxes.
litter is swarming
camden kentish even the grove
we need radical plan for global warming
going to discuss with a bottle and mr gove.
not getting no reward
saving this earth had no incentive
now 10p on a bottle i applaud
mr gove you've shown normal recycling is not effective.

If Goves refund plan gets in
I'll have to recycle the Wheelie Bin
Get your refund, don't get lax
It will counteract the "Sugar Tax"

The thing is, this is not new! It used to be like that in the Golden Oldie days, I remember my Mum doing this, also collecting the bottle tops.

It's funny how everything goes around in circles.

I remember we children knocking on the doors of neighbours and asking 'have you any empties to take back.' They would often reward us with a penny for sweets.

I can just imagine todays youngsters going through bins looking for empties.

Re: bottle refund scheme gets green light

I rarely buy anything in plastic bottles, but always recycle them when I do. I think the refund scheme is a good idea, although I think 50p should be added to the price to encourage people to do so.
