It is only now that the eyes of the world are on them, that they are flapping around like headless chickens playing follow my leader.

They are all a pathetic, bunch of losers. I wish we could have a General Election tomorrow to rid ourselves of such flotsam.

Interesting.

A referendum "dragged us into the Common Market"? Really? I seem to recall the UK voted in a referendum (!) to join the CM.

So: the Brexit referendum presumably is (as "Remoaners" say) "dragging us out of the European Union - especially the Northern irish & Scottish who have the good sense to want to remain in the EU.

I don't remember ever voting to join the common market. If there was a referendum then maybe I was too young (a bit like remoaner kids being too young to vote on Brexit). Back then though, we didn't have the luxury of demanding a second vote if we disagreed with the result.

No-one demanded a second vote because the majority was bigger than the laughable 52-48 of the Brexit one. And the benefits of the Common Market were soon obvious to all and sundry.

Further, so big a constitutional re-alignment should have had to have been 55-45 or 60-40 or whatever. Loyalists in the Six Counties of Ireland are already making this point now for when, in the not-too-distant future, the people there have to vote on Ireland being (re) united. And Brexit is a much bigger deal than that!

The bar should have been set much higher than a straight simple majority.

Then your memory is befuddled. We were taken into the EEC by Ted Heath's Tory government and much like Cameron's promise of a referendum to take us out of the EU, Harold Wilson promised a referendum to see if we wished to remain in the EEC as part of Labour's manifesto. He swept into power as a result.

A majority chose to remain after the propaganda about the benefits of staying in were used to convince a gullible public who little realised it would evolve into the monstrous plutocracy it is now as subsequent governments sold Britain's sovereignty by the signing of detrimental treaties.
