I should also add to those instructions that if you get in a real mess doing this then you can always highlight all the messed-up text in the window, hit the Delete key and then the Back key on your computer to return to the OFF thread, you don't have to submit it.
Then if you are really persistent about learning how to do it and it hasn't done your head in, start again!

To make text appear as a quote the header is :
{quote="name of poste"}
but with square brackets not curly brackets
The footer is just {/quote}
So for example if I want to make the sentence "I think sausages are fabulous" appear as a quote from a poster called say Lucy I would literally type:
{quote="Lucy"} I think sausages are fabulous {/quote}
but using square brackets
it would appear like this

Just type the following text in a post, don't hit any quote buttons or anything just type it exactly as below EXCEPT use square brackets rather than the curly brackets:
