Two-Way Family Favourites.

What do you remember of those long lost Sundays afternoons.

Re: Two-Way Family Favourites.

Those were the days - listening to two-way family favourites while mum, was getting the Sunday dinner ready, and listening to the messages from service men and women posted abroad on the BFPO system.

Two-Way Family Favourites.
Firmly linked in my mind to Sunday mornings listening on an ancient battery radio (we had gas but no electricity) with roast beef/overcooked vegetables/rice pudding for lunch it was always the same thing.
If the battery was going we all had to sit close to the radio to listen

Re: Two-Way Family Favourites.

Ah yes I remember it well - Messages & music requests from home to our servicemen in Germany and other places. Jean Metcalf & Cliff Michelmore were the first to host it I think.

I have memories of Sunday dinner cooking while this was on the wireless.

Such an innocent time...
