Re: Anne Widdecombe's Amazing Speech

Andrew Neil has summed up the new EU leaders -

"A failed German defence minister;
a failed Belgian Prime Minister
a former financier found guilty of negligence in a multimillion pound Euroscandal
and a Spanish politician who's been a cheerleader for repression in Catalonia"

Look at the number of national vetoes of the past say 20 years or so. Ask yourself, why is that figure going down instead of up if the EU is as democratic as they claim ?

There is talk of even more national vetoes being culled - the way forward will be similar to the Singapore Agreement and how that deal was made - the EU elite wouldn't allow a veto.

So where is the justification for suggesting that we are slaves to Europe?

You say that a vote is only of use if it means something, what you mean is it only means something IF it goes your way. Where is the democracy that you keep rabbiting about in that?

Claim

The UK share of the vote in the EU Council of Ministers is 8%, down from 17% when we joined.
Conclusion

It has declined, but a new system based on population makes the UK's vote worth 13%. A lot of Council decisions are made by consensus after negotiation, so vote share doesn't neatly capture the UK's influence.

Another great piece of evidence based observation "there is talk" up to your normal standard.

We are like the oppressed rising up against the oppressors.

Look at how the euro holds countries prisoner

Vetoes are getting less = less votes = less say = less power = less democracy.

Your figures a laughable where did you get them from ?

Anyway, the "there is talk" bit came from Tusk in one of his communist rants. Its comes under the "more Europe," category, which comes about when there is a "crisis" and the only option is "more political integration"

It's so predictable

Re: Anne Widdecombe's Amazing Speech

What a Gal! Brilliant speech, Bet they didn't know what hit em. So far they have only had to deal with Blair (brown nose)
Brown (sneaked in to sign away the uk under cover of darkness) Cameron (coward) and Maybot (Closet remainer who was willing to sell us all down the river).

The dictatorial EU are so used to delighting in walking all over our politicians who have gone cap in hand every time. It is so refreshing to listen now to a woman who really believes in Brexit and who gives it to em with both barrels. She's too thick-skinned to worry about the snidey remarks and insults that would inevitably be the result from bitter Remainers when they heard her speech.

Go get em Ann!

We need more like her .

In the unlikely event anyone on here saw her on Newsnight last night, you would have seen she totally refuted the criticisms of the remainer interviewer.

What a stupid comment to make! "you mean the vote only means something IF it goes your way". You must have been biting your tongue when you typed that line!
As a Remainer and Europhile who has spent the last three years insulting the democratic vote to Leave, you really are the epitomy of hypocrisy.
