Have You Heard Of, Or Tried, Cupping?

Quote......Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine. ... There are different forms of cupping; the most common are dry, wet, and fire cupping. Cups are applied onto the skin and a suction is created, pulling the skin up. It is meant to increase blood flow to certain areas of the body.

My sister said, she has ordered some special cups from Amazon to use on her upper arms to get rid of her flabby skin. She isn’t fat but has lost weight lately, leaving her upper arms with a little excess flab.

I can’t believe using cups to create suction to the excess flab will tone it or, make it disappear.

Do you know what Cupping is? Have you tried it?

Yes, I have heard of it, Art.
There are quite a few therapists doing this now, but I have no personal experience of it as it doesn't appeal to me.

I am not sure about your sister doing a DIY job though?
If I wanted it, I would go to a qualified person first of all, see how it's done, and how I felt afterwards before doing anything to myself.

What if it marked her skin, or went wrong, (I believe it can bruise some skins), she would have no come back whatsoever, would she.

Just like Candleing which was discussed a while back, cupping is also pseudoscience apparently

Re: Have You Heard Of, Or Tried, Cupping?

I have had cupping therapy at the Leicester Physio and Hijamah Clinic to relieve tension in my back. The cups create a vacuum on your skin and therefore increases blood flow to the area. IT definitely worked for me (it's not painful but afterwards I had marks all down my spine for some time) but can't quite see how its going to get rid of flabby skin. Also had a course of acupuncture which also worked wonders.
