Falling Down At Home whilst no-one is around!
I've spent the last 7 years living alone, since I lost my better half, and my offspring have been relentlessly pushing me to wear one of those necklet things in case I fall over.
I have never taken them up on that since a near neighbour, who had one, had a bad experience.
Anyway, the problem seems to have been solved a different way and others might find it useful to know about.
I have Amazon Echos in most rooms as I find it useful to play music & set alarms, get weather reports, etc.
What we hadn't realised was, that if I fall over, I can just shout, "Alexa, ring (XXX) ...Daughter"
Alexa just rings the appropriate number and one of my lot picks up their phone - Bingo!
A quick trial shows that you can shout at the device from 10-15 yards away & it does the job.
This is not meant to be an advert, and there are other systems, slightly different, but what a good fix!
