Re: Bike ride

As far as I know, a limit can be set, but it is not a default setting and yes, a carrier has been ordered to house the control box so that and me will be protected by mudguards.

Re: Bike ride

This is the £37.00 Mountain Bike, its aluminium and light as a feather, what a bargain, stuck the new tyres and inner tubes on (which I already had) but I will fit a new saddle.

A smart bike and yes, quite a bargain! Are the brakes hydraulic?

Re: Bike ride

Carrier and control box in position, have drilled through the down tube in two places to take two M4 X 60mm bolts to come to bolt the Battery carrier to the frame (Tuesday probably).

Re: Bike ride

That's quite a bit of kit all in all. You'll soon be going up the hills as fast as you go on the flat.

One aspect I have found good about e-bikes is almost a safety feature, It means being able pedal smartly away at crossroads or traffic lights. The power assistance speeds up that initial crawl that bikes do from a standing start. Gets you across road junctions quicker when you have to choose your moment to go for it.

Re: Bike ride

Battery is now mounted, had to buy one of these today so I can fit the Crank Sensor.

The £37 Mountain Bike is ready to roll apart from a saddle, I pinched a saddle and stem off another bike but the stem on that is a slighter smaller diameter, so, can't risk buying one off the Net in case it is the wrong size.

I have one of those with out the handle. Just needed a spanner or socket.

Re: Bike ride

Emjay, I saw the ones on the net without the handle for a great £3.95, but, I did not want to wait another week for delivery, so I bit the bullet and paid the £12.95 at Halfords
