Yes for sure. Nine times out of ten you would get away without but the tenth time could be fatal.

Why put it off? Less than five minutes with the fridge power off will do no harm. Go on Rachel go for it!!

The socket is behind the fridge freezer.
This means that I have to crawl through the gap between that and the boiler and try to stretch my arm around the back of the F/F and hope I've located the correct switch.

AND havind accomplished the task of replacing both bulbs, I will have to crawl around the floor again to switch the ******* ******* thing back on

Aching too much at the moment. Had to move stuff in the garden.

Re: Replacing fridge and freezer light bulbs

I wouldn't bother, but then I don't think I've ever needed to change one. But best to be safe. Actually, to be extra safe what you could do is switch the fridge off, throw all the contents away, wait until it cools down and throw the appliance away. Buy a new one as it would surely have a nice bright bulb in it. Obviously buy some new food as well, or things would get a little pointless.
Always a solution, folks!
