That is purely an issue of Food Storage Techniques and education of the same.

I store Wheat, Spelt and Rye grains which I buy cheaply by the sack (25kg). I simply transfer those grains into smaller bags and vacuum seal them. Then I store those vacuum sealed bags in your average rectangular plastic box with a lid in the garage. They will last many years in that way.

Similarly you can store dried pasta and pulses in airtight containers and glass jars.

It's a question of priority. Many people have garages, others have small rooms they use for other things like cloakrooms with coats and junk, the space under the stairs usually reserved for the vacuum cleaner etc.

You have the choice to prioritise such spaces to establish a decent long life food supply so that you are not caught out when the financial collapse or national disaster occurs. If keeping a car in a garage is more important than food then good luck to those people when there is no fuel for the car and when the shops run dry of products.

Re: Eating for Health

That sounds good. How do you normally fry the tomatoes? Do you bread them first or just fry them in a pan (I'm assuming by the slice) in olive oil or something? That would be a great breakfast for me, especially on my whole grain low-cal bread.

Re: Eating for Health

Personally I would fry them in the pan--halved with spray light or similar--but now mostly I just chop them and heat up in microwave till softened---quick and simple..

Re: Eating for Health

Till softened? But tomatoes are already soft. Are we talking about the same things here? lol

Wait, are you talking about red tomatoes or green tomatoes? And wouldn't the tomatoes make the toast soggy? Just curious

No never---I do not think Ive ever seen green tomatoes in the supermarket---I though they were only used in chutneys and pickles.
