That was amazing to watch Tiff and you could be correct in thinking your chrysalis may have hatched and flown away without you seeing.

I hope it did anyway.

Oh! I think this is fascinating! I like to think yours did hatch out, Tiff...have you had a closer look at the casing at all?

There is just the split at the top just like the one in the video & mine does look empty. So hopefully it did hatch & I did notice a butterfly outside not long after I saw the split, but didn't think anything of it.

I bet it did hatch Tiff, especially as you saw the one outside soon after too. Hope so, ey.

Very interesting.My BH advises gardeners as to what plants attract the native insects.Everyone wants butterflies in their gardens but not caterpillars
