Wintering Begonias

Hi, does anyone have any tips on how to look after Begonias during the winter. I planted some bulbs during lockdown and the flowers were beautiful but now wondering whether to stick them in the shed with the geraniums but reading on some sites that you have to get new ones each year.

If I have bulbs doesn't that mean they will return?

Annie, if you mean Begonia tubers, I am pretty sure they are classed as 'tender perennials,' which means they are not frost hardy - else they would be called 'Hardy perennials.'
I think you will find they have to be lifted and stored over winter, much like Dahlias in tubs do.

Have a look on the RHS website under Begonia care, that should have the answers there.

Here you are Annie, I wasn't able to get the web page for you before:

https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=815

If you scroll down the page, you will come to the winter care advice.
