Re: Visiting Montenegro

Hi

As the world gets more tourists you get more development, a simple fact of life.

The new tourist developments provide jobs for the locals, which in many places are very much needed.

I'm with you on that Solo

We went to Ramsgate last week, and there was a new Greek eatery which had opened up 4 months before, was chatting to the Greek staff and they were saying it was so much better here at the moment, because of all the troubles and the wages were better.

Very interesting and the foreign office advice is certainly going to have an adverse effect!

Re: Visiting Montenegro

I know Croatia quite well which is why I wanted to see Montenegro but my advice is stay away - Croatia is light years ahead in terms of tourism and I think that the hotels are generally of a better standard.

I thought Yugoslavia was light years ahead till it all blew up and then you realise just how low things can rapidly go.

We may think we are civilised but it doesn't take much to revert back to prehistoric behavior

Re: Visiting Montenegro

We visited Kotor, situated in a beautiful bay on the coast of Montenegro as part of our holiday in Croatia in 2009. The scenic views and surrounding mountains were amazing. The old city was built between the 12th and 14th century and is steeped in history.

It was well worth the visit and I would recommend it to anyone.
