Returning America to a balanced republic.
One of the keystones to having a free and open nation is have balance within the media. Right now, and for the last 4 or 5 decades, that has not been the case. Liberalism has taken near total control of all media.The major broadcast networks: CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN are all controlled by the far left. Additionally, the overwhelming percentage of America's newspapers are all borderline extremely radically leftist.
To be honest, there are a few media sources which are middle of the road and a few which are rightist or conservative. However, those sources have little impact. It is the "big boys" who control what gets reported and how it is reported. The how is quite important for a biased news organization can have a huge impact on how the citizenry thinks.
If you doubt that, then I draw your attention to the media of Hitler's Germany. I will assume that our readers are familiar with the propaganda machine run entirely by one man, Josef Paul Gobbels. Suffice to say, Nazi German propaganda shaped the minds of the people.
It is not that bad in the United States or in Great Britain but the leftist bias is significant.

In Germany it was the far right and the media promoted Gobbels ' Great lie Therory ' ( tell a lie big enough , enough times And it will be believed ) against the Jews .The same method is being done now very effectively against Israel.

Fox News is primarily a cable news service. Yes, some large cities have a station that is labeled "Fox" but, and this is an import consideration, those stations do not, repeat do not, have the serious conservative talk shows like Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly.
Comparing the power of Fox News to the Network Giants, is like comparing the power of an 8 year old to that of an adult. Worse still, it is like comparing the 8 year old, to 4 adults

Yes, her name is Whoopie Goldberg. A truly nasty woman. She had a melt-down on National TV this last week. A conservative woman was talking about Pres. Trump and Whoopie, totally lost control. She started screaming and told the conservative woman to "Get the f**k out of the building".
The screaming continued 'back-stage' and security had to be called to keep Whoopie from physically attacking the conservative woman.

Strange isn't it though - there is often a distinct view in OZ;UK ; USA etc etc that the 'people' do not want the big business end of town [conservatives; liberals etc] running the country because they always favor big business and push the little man around - whereas Barack Obama was for the people - 'obamacare' - health for all at a reasonable price - the old labor parties in UK opposed the Tories for similar reasons and the labor in OZ the same - so there seems to be a divide - I find it strange BM that according to you - all the media is controlled by the left and not the right whilst the country is controlled by the right? we will never get it right will we or what's left of it!!30-07-2018, 09:36 AM

Gumbud, it's actually pretty simple. The media giants: CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN are controlled by the extreme leftists. Not to mention the ultra-leftist NEW York Times and The Washington Post.Jane Fonda, AKA "Hanoi Jane" is /was married to Ted Turner. That tells us a great deal about the leftist media.
On the other hand, the so-called "silent majority" votes according to what they think is right for the country.
With teachers, college professors, and the media controlling who learns what, it is a see-saw situation.
O'Bama went way too far into leftist territory and the country reacted. Hillary Clinton, a borderline communist, was just too much for the average American and the result was that people would have voted for Mickey Mouse instead of Clinton. If Hillary Clinton had not been so far left, Trump would never have been elected.
