Re: Will it be "Swexit" Next?

How about the concept of the EU exiting itself. Eu-exit if you want to...

Which is why we should have stayed in and simply stuck two fingers at things we didn't like. Quite beyond me why anyone here thinks that was a bad option.

Maybe it wasn't a bad option Annie.
Trouble is, we've never had anyone with the balls to do it.

Our leaders have been spineless for years - all of them.

If you think we don't have leaders who have the balls to stand up to the EU while we are members, why on earth do you think that they will have any more balls standing up to the EU amongst a myriad of other countries we suddenly have to deal with by leaving???

This is what I don't understand. How are we supposed to manage separate from the EU if we cannot deal with them as equals?!

Maybe it will shake them up a bit. Won't hold my breath though.

France has been doing it's own thing for decades. We surely aren't weaker than the French?

It pains me to say it but, yes, I believe our politicians are weaker than those of France.

In fact, I sometimes wonder whether we shall ever again have a PM of the standard of Churchill or Thatcher.
