On this, it's probably a good idea to join a social club to get to know people - if they're not too cliquey that is?

Re: Settling In

We have moved into new neighbourhoods many times in our nearly 50 years of marriage as my husband changed jobs with each promotion. We never felt the need to join social groups or anything like that.

Re: Settling In

Hi

First thing is to get the house as I want it before winter arrives.

It takes a lot longer when you are on your own to do things.

I will be joining things as soon as I can.

The Sports Village is only a few minutes walk and they have lots going on there during the day for us oldies.

I am a terrible dancer, so joining a dance class, they are advertising for men, beginners welcome.

Next month is taken up with Hospital Appointments, scan results etc, so won't be doing much else then.

Top priority Sfeeder is getting that fishing tackle close to hand in a lock up shed in the garden and a Maggot farm going with a few overripe chickens, that'll please the neighbours...…

I agree everything takes longer when there is only one person, I should know .

Swim, I did ask you before, but where are your Polish friends?
Didn't you say a while back they were moving with you, so aren't they helping you get straight?

Hi

Sabrina and the pretendies only came back last week and they have all been ill.

Zac and Derek are still in Poland, they are enlarging their garage business there after the other local one closed.

On my own for a while.

Just when you could have done with them!

Are the children school age Swim?
How do they attend school when they are back and forth like that?
Do 'visitors' have to do schooling here and in their own country?

I agree about trying to get straight before the cold weather sets in.
