Apple a day?

Looks like there are plenty of benefits from munching on an apple a day, or any fruit for that matter, for the over 50s.

Apple-a-day call for all over-50s

I has fruit for brekkie - just about to have some now in fact . Gonna wash it down with half a bottle of whisky. I mean the fruit will balance things out won't it, surely .

Re: Apple a day?

Load of nonsense - my family used to call me a fruit bat because of the amount of fruit I eat but it didn't give me a life up the ladder of health!

My breakfast just lately (I've gone off cereal and trying to cut down on bread) has been fish (which I could eat till it comes out of my ears) and a couple of apples. I did wonder if you couldn't get apples, would cider count?

Re: Apple a day?

I had an excellent crop of apples this year and have been eating about 5 per week since September.

I usually drink Apple juice (not from concentrates) throughout the day.

Does the same thing and there's no core to deal with

Enjoying my Tesco fruit salad consisting of: apple chunks, pineapple, melon, grapes and mandarins, which I supplement with some unrefined oat bran. Good stuff.

Re: Apple a day?

I eat two or three apples every week but I prefer oranges, we are lucky where we live as there are two fresh fruit shops in the vicinity. We also have a fresh fish shop and we eat a lot of fish, mercury and all, puts a great flavour on it, sure you can't beat a bit of mercury to raise your spirits.
