Re: Eggs & Cholesterol

It was the MP Edwina Curry who said that eggs had salmonella in them and there was a big clear up and parlava at that time. I cant really remember any big outbreak since the one in the 80's you have mentioned.
I was eating my two fried eggs on toast when I read this and am pleased I am not going to get ill now
Go to work on an egg and look for the lion stamp.
That's the way to go

Re: Eggs & Cholesterol

I decided years ago to eat what my body told me I needed, the cholesterol tests always come back fine so I never stopped eating eggs and I eat a lot of them.

Re: Eggs & Cholesterol

Doesn't matter to me, I rarely eat eggs, just don't like them.
My dad ate two boiled eggs every day - runny ones too

Re: Eggs & Cholesterol

I love a fried egg, and eat them regularly. We had our own chickens for 2.5 years, but when we had to move to a smaller home, we couldn't take the chickens with us

They made the same claim regarding prawns: they raise cholesterol; then changed their mind and said they didn't raise it one iota. It makes you wonder where they got the information from in the first place.

I am convinced there is a mass human trial going on whereby they tell us to stop eating X and start eating Y then they sit back for 30 years and see if it makes any notable difference. If it doesn't, they then give X a reprieve and put Y on notice! Then add Z as a replacement culprit. I think that's about as scientific as they get in the early stages
