Anyone suffered double vision but not side by side but up and down ??? sometimes it looks like people have 2 mouths lol...
The hospital have said its dry eyes and ruled out my existing eye problems as a cause and advised me to use artificial tears...any ideas anyone ??

Re: double vision / tired eyes

I get this especially first thing in the morning I have distance glasses for it, they have prism lenses. I thought I was going mad when I first noticed it as I'd only thought of side by side double vision. I do get that sometimes where the white lines in the road are double, but weirdly only in the passenger seat!

If i spend any time on my computer or pad then move my eyes nothing focuses properly at any distance and the image drops down below itself ..its not exactly blurred but more distorted....Its probably something i will have to live with...but i hope my new glasses will help when i get them ..

Re: double vision / tired eyes

Can't say I have suffered from double vision yet but I do get bouts of odd floaty things appearing. If I try to ignore them and carry on straining my eyes, by staring at a screen for instance, they increase until I feel that I'm being taken over by creepy crawly worm thingies. Quite interesting really . Only cure, I find, is to close my eyes and rest, sleep even, for a while.

they are called floaters...normally harmless and a side effect of getting older.....however if they are increasing , becoming a nuisance get them checked as there could be a underlying condition ..ie diabetes etc. ....

Well I hope everything is ok with me .

I have had these episodes all my life, always when I strain my eyes for too long. Computer work can cause it as well as being too close to a bright TV screen, but even being in strong sunlight for too long can bring it on.

I've got one floater in my right eye but am only aware of it at night when reading. Nuisance aren't they, you end up watching them, it's hypnotic!

Mark matey, they (floaters) can also be a prelude to wet macular degeneration. George had it and was blind in his forward vision towards the end of his life.

Hi Mark, I've had to turn the screen brightness right down on my p.c. and found that helps. Might be worth a try for you? My eyes are also very bad in sunlight. I've got prescription sunglasses now, but what I find the worst thing of all is those blue headlights everyone seems to be having now, they'll send me into a ditch one of these days!
