Herbs.

I have a small herb garden. Rosemary, Thyme, Chives and Mint, which I grow in a pot because it grows out of control.
I'm not that clued up on herbs and wondered if anyone knew of any other herbs that would do well in a small area of garden or even a pot?

Re: Herbs.

I also grow Lemon balm (this is easy to grow but spreads so needs restricting like mint), Marjoram and Lemon Tyme which are neat and suited to a small area. I had Dill and Feverfew but the seem to have disappeared. Basil and Parsley I grow in pots in the house.

Re: Herbs.

Thank you very much Meg. I like the sound of the Lemon Balm and Lemon Thyme.

Re: Herbs.

Reading Megs reply made me realise that I'm missing a few herbs too!
I do have a nice bay tree in a large pot.

Re: Herbs.

My daughter lost hers to Annie and it was a lovely specimen. The frost also cracked the pot it was in.

Re: Herbs.

Mrs PM planted up some herbs this year in an old strawberry pot and has put it on the patio outside of the kitchen. Only problem is we have never used herbs other than mint, so we are heading into the unknown this year...should be interesting...

Re: Herbs.

I love herbs in my food but apart from the ones I grow myself I use dried ones. They make all the difference, just as long as you use the right ones for the right food.

Re: Herbs.

Fennel is another beautiful herb but is rather large. You can use the leaves and seeds. If you don't harvest the seeds it will spread.
