Well they need to be told. Obviously provided with emergency nutrition but be aware that it isn't the government that are at fault, in fact the government are helping - and the government is with what I consider to be far too much tax payers money anyway.

Next is to sort out recovery from the cash being handed the cost of doing for the kids that their parents should be doing and are being given the cash to do.

For what it's worth, there was a young woman on the news earlier today who said she struggled to feed her kids, yet she had hair which was styled and highlighted, and was well overweight, too.
I know I probably sound mean, but I'm afraid she didn't come over as a poor starving mother who has to go without to feed the kids.

According to yourself Todgy, you have taken steps to "avoid" paying
tax in uk?
So, why should you care what government spends it on??

What do poor people look like in our day and age? Unwashed with no teeth and in rags?

They certainly don't have the latest phones, Sky & Netflix, designer clothes and a smoking/vaping habit.

It's our country being gullible like this that led to Brexit.
We need to stop being so gullible & I for one hope that Boris & the government stick to their guns.

For those truly concerned about children in our country going hungry please ask yourselves this:
Our media have latched on to this alleged problem so why has nobody - not one of them - done an in-depth analysis of even one family saying they have this problem to prove that the problem is real?

I can tell you.
The answer is because it is all nothing more than another money-grab.

.
The weekly food shop is far more expensive than phones, designer knock off clothes and netflix. You can't live these days without a smartphone and internet access. It's out of touch to consider that as a luxury.

£20m is nothing compared to the waste that is sunk into vanity projects. I wonder how much the transport review into the Ireland bridge will cost on its own.

Annie, I don't want to argue with you, but I am stating the impression I got from hearing and seeing this young woman.

If I had little food in the house and no money to buy any, I wouldn't be thinking of having my hair done, and if my kids had no food, why would I be so overweight myself?

However, I do completely agree with you about wasting money on HS2 and the Ireland bridge.

The amount for the free meals is £2.30 per day per child.

Because it amounts to close to misappropriation by the recipients not spending the money they get on things for purposes other than what it is intended for resulting in higher property taxes because it is local councils who have to foot the bill.
