Re: condolences

I'm sure I've seen on news reports that they have in special circumstances put up plastic sheets in hospitals someone can hug a sick relative. Perhaps they should roll something like that out commercially so someone can hang it on their porch. Human touch is so important. I'm a big hugging fan and I really miss being able to hug friends and relatives. It's a wonder nobody has yet marketed a wireless hugging suit so you can be hugged online.

In the same circumstances I would likely have taken his arms and squeezed them in a comforting way held his hand or stroked it. I'd probably be wearing my vented mask and gloves. There are many comforting gestures, particularly below the elbow where you really feel someone cares. They can be just as intimate. Even more so in a way.

I guess I'm very paranoid about infection control because I'm a bit crazy these days since Covid madness has hit!

Re: condolences

I agree Morticia, and it's going to be a very sad world if no one can hug ,or in some cases see their family, because I think this virus is here for a very long time.....hope I'm wrong

Re: condolences

In recent years, folks increasingly seemed to be satisfied with Facebook etc, is it because they can't do something by default, it is now a problem.

Nor me, my Mother used to say, only come and see me if you actually want to, not because you feel you have to, electronic communication has afforded a lot of get out clauses.

Re: condolences

I wouldn't go around hugging willy nilly while the virus is lurking, but nobody tells me whom to hug and when. I will follow the rules and respect others people concerns by not invading their space if they so wish. But I reserve the right to hug and kiss with participating humans should I deem it necessary.....

And just for the record........Facebook Sucks!...
