Miserable thread?
I take a fence at that. We are discussing important issues for those of us stricken with these awful diseases.

I'm out of this thread. I have far more pressing things on my mind at the moment.
Goodnight to you.

if I have influenced you to question the value of your time spent on here, then I see that as a good thing. Think about how you really want to spend your precious time.

Re: Anxiety and depression

All of the above tips plus one I have found to help me too.
First though, I don't consider anxiety to be a mental illness.
To me it's more like an emotional disorder.
The word 'mental' sounds too much like madness.
Anyway, what helps me to calm anxiety, is reading books on psychology. I download them from our online town library for free.
So far I have read 39 of them.
There is something to learn in all of them, and not just about anxiety, depression etc.

But i would urge you to consider prayer as a life affirming hobby. That would open up your world to a whole new kaleidoscope of life giving possibilities. You will start to see God in all things.
What a transformation!!
Prayer - a hobby? What a strange concept, Precious. As you are a religious person I would have thought you would regard prayer as more important than just a hobby!

Re: Anxiety and depression

Oh dear, yet another thread's ramblings about whether there is a God or not.

It was Charlie's thread, a new member, who was asking about Anxiety.
He has never been back to discuss it or say what is wrong.

Could this be because someone has once again been banging on about his religious beliefs - in the General Health section of all places - instead of letting the new member get a word in edgeways?

I really am so fed up with those who appear to look down on others who don't feel the same.

Different things feel 'right' for different people, and no one should be pompous enough to feel qualified to lecture others.
