The EU deal with canada (or anyone else) has no level playing field and Canada didn't have to hand over its sovereign waters. We won't be either and Barnier is starting to realise he has no chance if us signing up to that kind of ridiculous nonsense.

No cherries remember !
On the contrary, the canada deal, chapter 3, starts off with a section A, totally dedicated to anti-dumping and countervailing measures.

So why would a deal with the UK exclude such measures?

Whilst l agee with all your analysis etc Bread which you state so
well, l must say that l never understood Barnier to concede
anything in his statement? It seemed that he had merely deferred
things to a later date, so things will stay as they are now for a
while yet! he has managed to defer the june end deadline untill
October, which suits him as it givs more time for the remainers
to create more diversions and controversy within uk with the good
chance of thwarting Boris/ Frost in exiting in january next
My heart is with you Bread but that is how l see it!!

Not going to happen. Boris' political life depends on leaving completely on Jan 31st 2021. As I see it, all Barnier has "potentially" succeeded in doing is "kicking the can" down the road" for a couple of months or so thus extending the time when all of industry, both in the UK AND in the EU, will be left in limbo not knowing which way to turn.

A deal had to be oven ready by october from the beginning. It takes time for parliaments to ratify a trade deal. Remember the last deal your own parliament had to close (as a mnemonic, it was the WA) a deal, it took them three full years.
End of june was always intended to decide (by politicians) whether a trade deal could be drafted by october. So no kicking of cans down any road. What a lack of understanding again!

Youre wrong again.

The WA is not the trade deal it is how we withdraw from the treaties once we have left the EU.

Barnier is kicking the can down the road - Percy is absolutely right. So far Barnier has :

1. Failed to keep us in the EU
2. Failed to keep us tied forever to the WA via the backstop
3. Failed in a UK second referendum
4. Failed in the UK accepting a level playing field
5. Failed in fisheries

He's stumbling and bumbling around until Merkel takes over in October. Then it will be the UK and Germany that decide on your behalf.

Barnier is yesterdays man. Everyone knows that.

"No, no, no, no", says Percy shaking his head in despair. Read and understand what our good friend Donkeyman wrote a few posts ago "he has managed to defer the june end deadline until October, which suits him as it gives more time for the remainers to create more diversions and controversy within uk with the good chance of thwarting Boris/ Frost in exiting in january next"

If that is not kicking the can down the road I fail to see what is.

That is an opinion unsubstantiated by facts. That is one of the main problems with brexiters, mistaking opinions for facts.

1. Barnier is french. Only british parliament could have revoked article 50. So nothing to do with barnier. Dumkopf!
2. You are tied to the WA forever. There is no time limit to the agreement. Kluns!
3. Barnier could never call another referendum. British citizens failed in that too. Fantasme!
4.5. Time for the UK to accept hasn't elapsed. Running too fast!

Germany (not merkel) will take over the rotating presidency of the european council. You really have no clue of the workings here.

Not interested in your opinions, it's facts that count. So preach for your own little parish of votaries, but don't try to pass them of as facts. You degrade the honest forum members.

if you were interested in facts you might want to use them now and again instead of your silly clown comments about things that don't exist.
