Here is a revelation for you ...

The UK is outside the EU and we leave the EU VAT scheme on 31st December 2020.

You knew that didn't you

Thank you for confirming that your own argument in post #16 about electronic payment at customs upon entering containers is false.

Your inventing things.

I do all my VAT returns on line and I will continue to do so as long as VAT is applied to goods and services in the UK.

Its obvious you have no idea about any of this.

It's obvious you never cleared a container through customs. Go consult swimfeeders if you need to know about that. He is way more knowledgable on these matters than you.

So, voilá, the deadline for negotiations between barnier en frost: octobre.
So why panic? Just sit down and do what british are best at.
Well they should get off their arses and start things moving

Today:

The row broke out as the UK’s chief negotiator, David Frost, and Barnier, resumed talks over a comprehensive free trade deal, their first face-to-face meeting in Brussels since February.

Re: Macron demands brexit deadline???

Hi

Our new systems are not yet ready.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...ission-to-move

In addition to this for incoming EU Goods we are only introducing checks gradually, not from day one.

The other big thing is sanitary and origin checks, not needing at the moment but we are short on personnel to do them for our Exports.

We do need to get a move on.

Their row is not about trade in goods, but trade in financial services, the banking passports. If the UK cannot provide services in the EU that is a bigger problem even than no trade in goods. UK export in services to the EU exceeds (in £) that of goods.
Barnier uses his leverage on services to force the UK to change their red lines on fisheries and level playing field. Let's wait and see how that works out. For one, it would make the UK a less attractive partner for switzerland.

Of course the EU is ready. As 7779311 pointed out, france has set up the necessary facilities. As you yourself in the past mentioned the increase in customs personnel in rotterdam harbour.

But it would be nice if the UK was ready to honour their obligations from the ireland protocol from the WA. That WA was signed by boris and passed the HoC, so that stands for decades to come.

For those who don't believe that, just listen to marc francois lettre.
