Strange lights in the sky tonight

I have just been out with Chloe and watching strange lights in the sky, shadowy kite shapes climbing and swooping like a bird.
It is South West of me can anyone else see it....

Sounds like Aurora action Meg, could well be high activity.

Oooer Meg, just popped outside to have a look, but its thick cloud here so can't see a thing. I'm perhaps too far away from you anyway?

Just checked Aurora Watch and activity is normal we need a piccy.

It's awful isn't it when you see something and no-one else is around to verify it.

What about them being Chinese Lanterns...maybe someone's having a party somewhere?

Nom it is south west of me so the wrong direction for the
Aurora , they could be the natural phenomena called 'earth lights' . I don't have a good enough camera to take photographs .

Someone else must have seen them so there may be pictures in the local press .

Hi Pesta it is nothing like that, it's a shadowy light swooping about very fast.

It must be 'earth lights'.
