Re: Britain Agrees FTA with Norway Iceland and Liechtenstein

Very nice though the OP is, why no mention anywhere in here of the UK formally being invited into the CPTPP's accession process too?

This lot are much faster at decision-making than the EU; it has a combined population slightly larger than that of the EU; their share of global GDP is about the same except that theirs is growing far faster than the EU's (which in fact by contrast is shrinking); and of course they won't require either access to our waters or freedom of movement for their citizens as a precodition of membership.

This is the one that is potentially the singly most advantageous and beneficial deal for the UK.

Re: Britain Agrees FTA with Norway Iceland and Liechtenstein

Perhaps we should broadcast the benefits of joining the CCTPP so there can be no doubt about how our future membership can serve the UK:-

CPTPP is a trade agreement between 11 countries (Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam), covering 500 million people.

CPTPP countries accounted for £110 billion-worth of UK trade in 2019 and its rules remove tariffs on 95% of goods traded between members.

UK accession could cut tariffs in vital UK industries like food and drink and the automotive sector, as well as creating new opportunities in areas like digital, data, and across services.

Joining CPTPP will deepen our access to fast-growing markets and projected major economies of the future, including Mexico, Malaysia and Vietnam.

It's coming ....!

The trade deal with Australia isn't significant according to the doom mongerers. They should be reminded that the reason we haven't done much trade with Australia in the past is because we were bound by EU tarrifs.
