Re: My allotment

If you are buying new canes Jan then autumn raspberries are worth considering such as the ones that I grow, "Joan J" . I have found that the fruits are bigger and with better flavour, are self supporting if planted in a sheltered spot and after fruiting they can be cut back to the ground ready for them to completely regenerate the following season. I haven't bothered with summer raspberries at all since I discovered the autumn varieties.

Re: My allotment

My local B&Q didn't have any. Spose I need to find some garden centres.

Re: My allotment

Think when its dark on your allotment go and nick a few. off other plots
The two prates next to my plot planted them along their borders.

They tend to spread and enconche(SP) on by plot like weeds.

So I just pick the fruits LOVELY

We discourage theft on our allotments! Get caught and you risk being run out of town! And lose your tenancy.

Re: My allotment

We have two bee hives on are allotment and they struggle because we are surround by houses and marsh land so very few flowers.

So I have just ordered £30 of wild flowers off this lot, it might be a disaster and might not.

Not much blossom for the bees on my Rosemary the weight of the snow broke most of the branches off but it is still struggling on as a single branch.
