Re: Vertigo

Hello Veronica I think that depends on the cause.
I understand vertigo is usually a symptom rather than a condition.

I had vertigo some years ago which I think was caused by a virus, I had it for about three weeks.

What does your doctor say

Re: Vertigo

I'm told it's recurring and tends to get worse. If it's really bad, get some medication, otherwise just avoid heights.

Feel so much for you, its an awful condition, I just have to limit what I do and I take the tablets everyday and certainly before bed ........

Re: Vertigo

I have been suffering from vertigo for the past 10 days. My doctor prescribed Prochlorperazine tablets. I seem to be past the worst.

Re: Vertigo

I do get bouts of Vertigo but not very often. I have the Prochlorperazine same as scot37. When I first had it I wondered what on earth it was, when it happens it's usually when I get out of bed early morning and I seem to sway to the left. I carry the tablets with me now and put 2 on my upper gum to dissolve and always works well before the nausea sets in. I wonder whether it's just an age related ailment.

Re: Vertigo

Full blown vertigo where the room spins so fast you can't stand, is not age related but an imbalance within the ears, the problem lies there .....
Its the most dreadful condition and I dread it .............

Re: Vertigo

I agree Patsy, it is frightening when dizziness like that occurs.
