Re: Tomatoes.

We buy loads every week. Never buy tinned though just use fresh. Add them in curries, sauces, on toast etc. etc. Just started picking our own this week to.

Re: Tomatoes.

I eat tinned chopped tomato most mornings for breakfast with a slice of seeded wholemeal. Sometimes I may have scrambled eggs or veggie sausage with them as a treat.
I dont find supermarket fresh tomatoes very tasty but then again I dont buy expensive ones.

Re: Tomatoes.

We find the plum toms seem to have more flavour and the large ones on the vine are OK. Its the cheap ones usually wrapped in plastic sold as salad toms that are really tasteless.

I agree I am lucky in being able to buy local tomatoes grown near Pershore.

Until this year Waitrose were selling an English grown variety of vine tomatoes called 'Elegance' but they seem to have disappeared this year, they were lovely.

Barry I can't eat ketchup either and think the sweet sticky mess bears no resemblance to a tomato....
