Fender my husband is an engineer .He says that the floors of the building are made of concrete on steel beams .
The heat of the collision and subsequent jet fuel would weaken the beams and their concrete covering would slid off hitting the floor below .
The impact weight of the huge slabs of concrete would crash onto the floor below and cause them to fail too.
Thus the domino effect .
One has to remember that the plane was a great big passenger plane well fueled and going at 400 mph.

You're talking about the pancake theory.
Many highly respected engineers have also said it should not have happened. Especially as the rate of collapse was free fall speed.
That aside, main support beams were found to have high temperature 45 deg cuts, more than likely caused by thermite. 45 deg cuts in supports is a common method used to make a building collapse in demolition.
All the remaining steel (evidence?), was cleared from site asap and smelted before it could be examined in depth - why??
As I said, this debate will never end and I doubt we'll ever find the truth of what really went on that day.
Bear in mind that these buildings were also designed to withstand the impact of an aircraft.

These things have been rebuffed countless times by professional engineers.
All you see in the media is what they want you to see.
I've read literally thousands of pages on this and the whole thing stinks to high heaven.
And, the planes were carrying circa 10k gallons each, not 48k.
