I used to be able to buy 2 x Rib Eye steaks for £4 each, now they are over £6-£7 each. groan. Even 1/2 leg of Lamb now costs around £9/£10, a whole leg £20, a decent size beef joint is the same. (even minced steak is rising in price).
hmm - ever thought of emigrating - we may be able to help - do you like prawns??

Yes the price of meat does continue to rise over here also but we do have the option around my parts of going out and getting a "killer" which not only feeds the family but the whole village or town as we call it here?

oh dear do I feel another Essex joke coming along?

I found this little snippet that may fit you galty?

Heffer had made his observations travelling home on commuter trains: “When one walks through the City most evenings the pools of vomit into which one may step have usually been put there by Essex Man, whose greatly enhanced wealth has exceeded his breeding in terms of alcoholic capacity. The late-night trains from Liverpool street are not lacking drunks, though Essex Man’s sense of decency means he is usually sick before boarding.”
I've got dozens waiting in the wings - so do keep them coming !

Love em! but strangely not served hot. I like them in a prawn cocktail or served with a salad or even in a sandwich, but somehow, they always end up being overcooked when given them hot.

Re: Does Barbecuing exit in UK?

Gumbud, didn't you know it's illegal to barbeque in the UK? It encourages people to mix and socialise with neighbours instead of moping indoors on their own. We are allowed to look through the window at the blazing sun but it's strongly discourages to venture outside with charred meats of any kind.
