Anyone know why

When Ive been admitted to hospital the admtting nurse looks at my bottom & back of heels .Anyone know why?
I know they take swabs from nose & mouth for MRA , but this is different

And they swab your groin.

They also inject your tummy now with something to stop blood clots it's only a small one.

Well thats what I heard the nurse say last week when she was injecting me .

I couldn't do that Deylon, I couldn't let someone poke me about without asking the reason why, and what they're looking for. You're not just something on a converyor belt to be inspected - ASK.
If I went in for breathing problems, I'd want to know why they were looking at my bum!

For me personally, rather than ask the good folks on here, I would sooner question the person who's doing it at the time.

They are checking pressure points for bed sores or potential bed sores. They have to monitor that as part of your assessment.

Wouldn't it be nice if they explained what they were doing though Ania. Then the patient wouldn't have to go home wondering about it for the next couple of weeks.
