What amazingly beautiful photos of a stunningly gorgeous country. I really enjoyed browsing through these.
If I do anything worth doing before I die its got to be to visit Russia (especially as half of my family reside in the area)..

but it seems as if they have abandoned the countryside in favor of all living in the cities? - the old versus the new heh?

Still vast swathes of countryside well lived in though too
I love seeing the stark contrast between the old and new ...they both have their own appeal

Not really creepy, more sad that most of those places were left to rot. Stunning photo's too.

Re: Photos of abandoned Russia - creepy!!

Seen this man in a couple of Russian TV docu. He has been travelling to mainly Northern Russia to photograph wooden churches for a number of years. London based but his book is a trifle expensive...over £600....

Hi Aysa, I've been watching him in Russia too. Certainly is a very quirky guy, ( no pun intended!) The third and last programme, saw him visit Chernobyl of all places. Apparently they do tourist tours there to raise money! Guy was able to get right into the heart of the building, albeit for just a minute or so, as the radiation levels are sky high. A really scary place.
