I don't have one particular favourite film, but a few films I like, one of them (before your time I'm sure) San Demetrio, The Cruel Sea, (for another), Down to the sea in ships (for a third) - See the genre???

I was weaned on Politics, and Trade Unions from a very early age. Both my Grandfathers and Father were active Trade Unionists, my paternal Grandmother was herself a 'match girl' and then a Suffragette.

My father was a member of the Labour Party and got sun burnt every time Harold Wilson bent over. He and I had long and angry arguments, because the Labour Party were wishy washy liberals and not true 'Sociailists' so I joined the Communist Party.

if you a communist why don't you live in a communist country with like minded people? Surely you would be happier there being dictated to than here with freedom of speech, free national health etc etc

Think you might be 10 years younger than me so maybe Gravesend had closed by then by the time you started your training

So where did you do your Merchant Navy training and what year.
