NO he replied . SHE then said are you deaf ???? you have to laugh the poor young doctor was trying to keep a straight face .

I'd fail that test then! I'm sure I wouldn't remember the name of a road, can't remember peoples names! As for tinnitus, for years I kept complaining about a lorry with it's engine running parked outside! Now it's more like a loud cricket! your mum sounds delightful! I'll never forget my mum pointing to her head and saying she thought she had a button missing.

Poppy I am terrible at remembering things and would probably fail the test and I have tinnitus. Mine is like the noise the TV used to make years ago when the programmes ended, a high pitched buzzing.

I hope your Mum was alright after all that, I hate going to the doctors.

Re: dementia

Well there is no doubt I would fail the test, I sit here for hours trying to think of a word, drives me mad, then suddenly its there so I have given up bothering about it.I think its because I dont mix now. When you are deaf its a nuisance, my hearing aid gets mixed up with the leg of my Specs and I end up with a sore nose, no its true so I dont wear it only for TV and you get the wrong end of the stick so its best to not socialise.Sorry I am going on.
