Christmas veg.

I don't know what veg to do with my Christmas dinner.
Sprouts are out in my house as Paula, Ady & the children hate them.
One consolation - my house wont be smelling of stale sprouts for hours after!!

It won't be the same without them though.

What veg will you be having?

Re: Christmas veg.

Even if no one else liked them I'd still do some sprouts for ME!

A nice big tray of roasty veg is good...carrots, onions parsnips, mini turnips...
At the end squeeze clementine juice over the carrots, and drizzle a little honey over the parsnips mmmmmmmmmm!

Re: Christmas veg.

We eat a good selection of fruit and vegetables every day....so nothing special for xmas just the usual selection of carrots, onions, parsnips, swede, broccoli, cauli, sprouts etc....
And...if your house smells of vegetables then you're cooking 'em wrong Carol.

Re: Christmas veg.

How should I cook them then Malcolm - considering Tony likes his cooked through and not crunchy?

Re: Christmas veg.

I`m cooking `away` this christmas so Veronica and those of her children there will have to like my way with sprouts=par boil and cool in advance. Later fry in butter with chopped bacon and chestnuts and finally a splash of white wine.

That sounds wonderful OG.
Veronica and her family are very lucky to have you do the cooking.

Carrots, cabbage, peas, green beans, depends on my fettle as to how they will be cooked, but crunch is a factor.
