I like Lonnie Donnegan, he was hard working (That probably upset a lot of the folk who met him) as I understood it he was working right up to the time he died.

Very true Losos - pity he was negative though when he achieved so much - I have read many biographies and they are pretty well balanced (by respected authors)
I think if you are a negative personality, there's little can change that

My friend and I saw Lonnie Donegan at the Bristol Hippodrome in '57, he was great .... we queued at the stage door after the show to get him to sign our autograph books.

I didn't care for the washboard and skiffle stuff so it was the one I remember him best for....plus after a few shandies we could belt this out with loads of pretend sorrow and make it sound great..
