Will Frosty be allowed to finish the job this time ??
Why are we STILL negotiating ? I thought we had a TRADE DEAL ?
Well it would have been nice if we really did have a trade deal. Unfortunately, though, what arrangement we have with the EU is rather more than a trade deal.
Our 'deal' includes the continued EU interference in our sovereignty of Northern Ireland. It also includes their freedom to use our fishing areas subject to some nominal restrictions which fails to protect our maritime resources from overfishing.
On the other hand, the EU countries seem to be at liberty to impose other limitations which I was unaware of, such as banning British soil on construction equipment from entering N.I. and, even more petty, lorry drivers' sandwich lunches not being permitted entry into EU territory, presumably unless eaten beforehand!
Yes, we are being played for fools, which I think we are.
Certainly, Frosty should take over the job as Boris has, in my humble opinion, shown himself to be far too soft. He should do what he did before Boris backed down at the last minute and stand up against the Brussels bullies.
Either we are party to a true trade agreement without any of the strings presently attached, or we leave completely which is exactly what I was hoping for until just before the end of the year.
As I have said before, we don't need the EU. We are capable of creating our own trade agreements with the rest of the world. We owe the EU nothing.
