Education

Pre this crisis, parents were told to withdraw a child for a holiday, outside the normal end of term times would seriously effect the child's long term educational prospects, so, what will happen after a potential say, six month lay-off?
Against this backdrop, why is the six week summer break a fixed criteria? If safe to do so, why would schools not reopen on say, July 20th or August the 4th for example?

Hi

Simple message.

Do not confuse Government with intelligence or Common Sense.

I was one of many who could not take holidays during School Holidays.

It was our busiest time.

When we took our children out for Family Holidays we where threatened with Fines.

The clear message was sod off.

Never, ever, underestimate the stupidity of Government.

Re: Education

I've been saying that all along, just bring the holidays forward. However, I was told that it would be breaking the teacher's contracts.
Not sure of the ins and outs but surely in these unprecedented times they could do this.

I wouldn't bank on it. Whilst some individual teachers might be sympathetic to the idea, teaching unions are very protective of their terms and conditions.

Good question TessA, it's not like the teachers would have booked a holiday is it....
