I can't say I have heard of this...maybe DM means Scottish currency in general? Our bank notes are from individual Scottish banks, and look so very different to each other. This, can cause confusion among the retailers down south who think it is forged! I wouldn't want to go down the Euro route.

Re: Another Blow for Scottish Independence

It amazes me that there is so much "Brexit Type" dialogue going on, as the Scotland initiatives develop.

There is a new breed of Remainer, this time, perhaps, made up of many who were leavers in the Brexit story?

There are, also, many new "leavers" whom the new "Remainers" think are ungrateful, stupid, people.

Even the vote seems to have been very close to what happened with Brexit.

Should the Brexiteers be getting wiih the Scot-iteers" since their thinking of who should be controlling them is at the root of their plans.

The odd need to get out of one controlling group (the UK Parliament) and into an even worse, unelected lot, is "Frying Pan & Fire" thinking, surely?

I think the SNP supporters probably imagine an independent Scotland run from Edinburgh and beholden to no-one.

The Fish Woman talks about EU membership, but I'm not sure exactly how she imagines it. I believe she is so intent to become leader of a completely independent Scotland, she uses the supposed EU membership to account for the need for financial support which, many authorities have explained must come from somewhere as the country is presently only able to function with financial support from England.

Needless to say, the EU will not support Scotland financially without some sort of return. They would require the same sort of control they used to have (and still have to some extent) over us. Certainly, an organisation to be avoided at all costs.

Hi

We voted to leave the EU.

Why on earth should we object to the Scots leaving the UK?

It is their choice, their decision.

Because they don't want to, it's only the SNP that thinks they do.

I think Nicola Sturgeon should concentrate on getting the country back to a stable footing. If her priorities are the people (as she claims) THAT should be the only thing on her to-do list.

Hi

In that case, let them have their referendum.

Exactly that pixie !!
I see the independence debate has now developed as to who will be
eligible to vote in the eventual referendum ??
Such as. ; People of scotch parentage & living in Scotland only ?
The whole of UK to vote ?
Scotch people living in UK allowed to vote ?
Scotch people from all over the world allowed to vote ?
English people living in Scotland allowed to vote ?
I think that before they arrange another referendum the % required
to achieve a result should be raised to about 60% in order to
avoid the arguments we had with brexit ??
