Politics and economy

Hi there, my name is Natalie and i am a journalism and broadcasting student at the University of Salford. I am currently doing some research for an assignment about an over 50's radio programme and was just wondering if you could help me. i want to know how many of you are generally interested in politics and the economy and as a percentage how much of your conversation is about politics. Any replies would be very much appreciated. Thanks , Natalie

Re: Politics and economy

Are you a senior student doing part time studies or a full time student?
Is it distance learning? I did not know Salford did that.

Re: Politics and economy

I'm not sure age has anything to do with anything much!
I've been interested in politics since I was about 14 and have been throughout my life. On the other hand I have friends who have never had a political thought in their lives and probably never will.
For me the only difference age has brought is that I can be more relaxed about my obsessions.

Re: Politics and economy

Hello Natalie,
Our household is interested in politics, we always have been, but it is difficult to put a percentage on how much time we spend discussing. I suppose it varies really depending what is currently in the news. Local politics I find a bit borning, but national and international politics can bring out some quite strong opinions in me. Good luck with your studies.
