Re: Suitable Swim Dresses

For a lane swimming chlorinated pool, they aren’t very practical.
Most of my summer swimming is done at the beach so sitting around with others in the sand exposed in a regular swim suite isn’t very comfortable without some type of coverup. Then after a long swim I have a long walk back along the beach. Sometimes the beach is packed with people whom I have to walk past so for me the skirt type of cover up swimwear is ideal.

Re: Suitable Swim Dresses

I go to the pool every week & swim half a mile (32 lengths)

This is my actual swim suit - I have three all similar. I think they do a decent job of covering everything I wish to be covered.

Why be embarrassed about how you look. Nobody sees it once you're in the water.

The ones Bratti posted are too pretty to get wet!!

There's always this swimsuit for £60. The only thing is, you mustn't get it wet.

For the indoor pool I wear Speedo’s like these. I also have a few of them. With the wide open legs I get a bit uncomfortable if I’m out of the water in them. Half my butt cheeks are hanging outand while my butt cheeks aren’t ugly or anything, it’s a bit too revealing for me to walk down the beach. When I was younger I had no problems. My figure hasn’t changed much since then but my mentality sure has

Even if it didn’t leak dye, this wouldn’t be worn by me to go swimming.

They look most impractical & I feel they would billow out when I was swimming.

They are pretty though.

For myself, these are the type of swim suites that are perfect for covering up areas that you don’t particularly like being exposed. If they aren’t your style, then by all means pass on them. I’m not selling them so don’t particularly care either way. Lol
For your lake/outdoor swimming I can quite see why you would buy these, Bratti. They're very pretty.
Swimming in a pool over here is quite restrictive in space you're allowed, sometimes lane swimming, not a bit the same.

The pool I swim at is quite restrictive also and these wouldn’t be the least bit appropriate. In fact I’d most likely either be escorted OUT or gawked at with ‘wth’ looks but since it ‘‘tis the season for swimming in the wild in wide open spaces, I was tickled pink to find these swimming skirts. Now I don’t have to feel gawked at walking down the beach from my swim. My swims are quite lengthy so it’s a bit of a trek back. At least I can do it in style.

Horses for coarses of courses.

Re: Suitable Swim Dresses

I've been looking for a forties style swimsuit for ages.

You know the type...the legs go a little way down the thigh, doing away with the need for 'bikini line' worries, iyswim, and the bodice is reasonably well upholstered!

Haven't been able to find one.
