Re: NHS waiting times

Hi

Corbyn will be making a huge issue of the NHS at the election.

It is not working well at the present time.

Well, if you can afford to go Private LQ and you are in a lot of pain, then go for it.

The waiting is awful and I m seriously considering paying for a private consultation with a cardiologist as I need to know what is wrong.

I know the NHS is in a mess but this is ridiculous.

As time is going by the palpitations that I m getting during the day are getting stronger. I.m grateful to at least be getting some sleep now.
That is a long time LD
It’s strange that in this electronic age we seem to spend more time waiting .
My husband had an appointment with the cardiologist that he had waited weeks for only to be told when going in that the xrays taken ages before had not been received .
So we had to drag off to the X-ray dept and have them done all over again .
I would contact them again .
After Mr M had his heart attack his GP recommended a check up with the cardiologist it’s just didn’t happen .
When we queried this we eventually got an appointment it was for five months time .
The GP apologised and said appointments were made on a basis of urgency from some central office .
Presumably an man who has had a major heart attack was not considered urgent .
Fortunately the GP was able to get it speeded up a bit .
I hope that you get your results soon of course it’s worrying for you .

I think a lot depends on the area you live in. I would say my area is not too bad.

I am sorry LQ, that you have been through so much lately. I do hope you can get the results and treatment you need done soon. The worry and anguish can’t be doing you any good.

I hope your dad is going on alright as he was a big worry to you not long ago.

Re: NHS waiting times

LQ so sorry you are going through this. So did your GP request the 24 hour heart monitor test? I don't understand why you weren't referred to a cardiologist by your GP in the first place. Is it the GP who is prescribing beta blockers without knowing what's wrong with you? Has your GP done blood tests? You must be exhausted with all the palpitations.

Hi Annie

Yes my GP did request the monitor, he hasn't even referred me to a cardiologist and he is prescribing the meds he thinks may help me. I asked him if he was going to refer me to a cardiologist and his response was "why, I have no evidence you need referring"...…………..OK I HAVE PALPITATIONS FOR NO REASONS THEN!!!!!!!!!!! I'm furious this doctor is taking risks with my heart health.
I've told me my husband if anything happens to me he needs to sue the NHS. I might be being over dramatic but also I might bloody well not be.

I know my own body and when it's not working as it should.

That's appalling. Insist on a referral to a specialist. The evidence is that his treatment to date has not helped you a jot. What evidence does he need? A heart attack or stroke?!

If he requested a heart monitor test then he suspects you have a heart condition. So you should be seeing a cardiologist. Tell him he is wasting NHS funds with his procrastination because you are ending up in A&E every other week.
