Re: Pizza.

Oh Missy. You rule. Look at that outdoor oven. That is supremely the most perfect way to cook pizza and it looks amazing. Gosh! You really are about fresh quality food. I’m a tad jealous.

Thin crust with lots of toppings including cheese, ham , pineapple, pepperoni, green olives, onions and hot peppers . It’s not something I make often though.
Great food for watching a movie.
Now, there's a mix, Bratti!

We used to call the pineapple pizza, an "Hawaiian pizza". I think it originated in Hawaii, using Spam and pineapple. Since our military base is there and they get a lot of Spam, (canned, ground up ham) Hawaiians use it regularly.

That’s it. Hawaiian Pizza. A nice blend of sweet and salty.
Spam. I remember that stuff. It was popular back then. Were you a military family?

I agree. What else do people use pineapple chunks for?

Once you cut gluten out you develop a love hate relationship with gluten free pizza bases. I would love if you could share your recipe for the base.

I used to love four seasons pizza, but it's not so nice on cardboard.

Absolutely would love to share my recipe with you.
You will just love pizza again with this. No hate with this one.
I’ve just got to find it and write it out.
And here it is.

1/. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F or 176 C
2/. In 3/4 ( 180 ml ) cup of warm water add 1 tbsp yeast.
3/. Let sit to activate for 5 minutes, then sprinkle 1 tbsp sugar
4/. In separate bowl combine gluten free flour mix ( 3 cups ) , 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 2 tbsps. sugar and whisk until combined.
5/. Make a well in the dry mixture and add the yeast mixture
6/. Add 1 tbsp. olive oil and 1/2 a cup of warm water and stir it all together
7/. Lightly coat a baking sheet or pizza stone with a non stick spray and place your dough down and with your hands and some brown rice flour work from the middle and spread the dough outwards.
Note: aim for 1/4 inch thickness
8/. Put the pizza dough in the oven for approximately 25 minutes or until it slightly cracks.
9/. Remove from oven and spread your favourite tomato sauce and toppings and pop back in the oven for another 20 to 25 minutes

Note: the crust should be golden brown and the tomato sauce bubbly.

Simple tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
1/2 cup water with equal pinches of salt , pepper, dried basil, oregano, thyme, and garlic powder

Bon Appetite Annie

Gluten free flour mix
1 cup rice flour
1 cup brown rice flour
1 cup tapioca flour ( starch )
3/4 tsp xanthan gum

Re: Pizza.

I don't mind pizza though I have it rarely. I remember buying a pizza in Glasgow in 1988 and it cost me £20 which I thought was absolutely incredible because at the time a large pizza here cost less than $5 (£2.50). My brother assures me that is not the case now.

Generally if you buy a large pizza from Pizza Hut, Dominos or Pinocchios they are about $8.95 (£4.50) if you go to a specialist place then they are about $10 to $15 depending on topping with seafood the most expensive.

I much prefer pizza to Maccas or KFC type meals but pizzas are far too big for me to eat by myself so I always get them cut into 8 slices because I definitely could not eat 12.
