Worst part was that all we boys only had short trousers in those days and had to use socks as gloves. Cold legs and hands - risking frostbite and chilblains. Worse for the girls though, at least our `extremities` were fairly secure. Happy days though.

On the reverse side of the coin, there is a street in Edinburgh called 'Vine Street' because the weather was so warm they used to grow vines there....
Since the beginning of time, the Earths climate has alternated between hot and cold. The amount of ice at the poles has also alternated, raising and lowering sea levels over time.
So why do we think that we can make a difference to it now.
Something will end up culling the human population, and the cycle will start all over again......
