We already know what Corbyn's view and ideas are on the property market.
In most cases, rents cost more than mortgage repayments .
Going back to the 80's we paid 17% or more interest on a mortgage, so we lost out in a different way.

Nobody is suggesting a 'crash' in the housing market, just price drops.
Good post Puddle Duck, Interest rates and house prices were at an unsustainable level back in 1979, it's merely returning to normal now. It's wrong to assume that a small fall in house prices heralds a new crash. The markets fluctuate all the time....

... By getting Councils to sell off their housing stock, stealing the money raised by the sales from the Councils and denying them the opportunity to replace such council housing stock, leading to the situation we no have - a severe 'social' housing stock - evil witch!!!

Yes there is Muddy, and I'm so glad Mrs Thatcher gave us the opportunity.
Although, it has been abused by unscrupulous people who try to make a 'Fast Buck' buying, doing them up, and putting them back on the market at vastly inflated prices.

I think that the buyers of a house should have to remain the owners of that house for at least five years.

There are several houses on the estate where I live that remain empty while they are being refurbished, or waiting to be refurbished. When these houses have been restored they will be too expensive for a new family or first time buyer.

The problem has been exasperated by unlimited immigration under the Labour government .
Where do you imagine all the people welcomed in live?

Here in South Yorkshire UJ the council estates are 'no go' areas, not even the police will venture in them after dark. some of the residents are too frightened to leave their homes at night. The council estates that have been acquired by the tenants are well maintained and safe to venture into. When you own your own home you become more responsible for that home and its neighbourhood.

The issue of alleged 'unlimited immigration' didn't become a political issue until the scumbag 'nasty party', true to form made it a 'racial' issue after 2010. Since Thatcher (phth, phth, phth) was ousted by the 'nasty party' in 1990 perhaps you would care to comment on the issue I raised which occurred during the 1980s.
