I'd actually like to see a few normal people who are just passionate about something like NHS or police so they want to make things better for us rather than it's just something expected that they will slide into a political seat and be paid masses for years.

I'm really surprised that you have come out with a comment like that as, although you voted to leave, you seemed to have a thinking head on your shoulders.

Hi

I think you misunderstood my post.

It was a response to Purwell, not a statement of fact.

Re: Anyone remember this

I'm reminded of another Prime Minister (also a scumbag 'nasty party' member - although it wasn't called that then) who flew back to Croydon aerodrome waving a piece of paper and shouting 'Peace in our time' whilst at the same time selling out the Czechoslovakian people and condemning them and the rest of Europe to Nazi domination for more than seven years.

The comparison between Neville Chamberlain and Theresa May is quite amazing!!!

I wonder why its always the scumbag 'nasty party' that s*at on the people of the UK???

The backstop, part of the present deal, has been warned about by several members on this forum. The danger of the backstop is so obvious.
Now the legal advice issues a similar warning.
I am not an inhabitant of the UK, but in your position I would be loath to sign such an agreement. You are at the mercy of the EU. Present representatives in council and parliament have a favourable attitude to the UK. In a few months times there are elections. The representatives change in political colour, and attitude. No way of knowing how they regard the backstop position in future negotiations on trade relations.
In that sense I do agree with UJ.

Sorry SF with you saying;

Hi

'The Government are Marxist Terrorist Supporters?'

I thought you meant that the government are Marxist Terrorist Supporters?

I was just looking for some clarification.

From my understanding of the 'backstop' I thought that both where looking for a 'guarantee' that there will be no border of any kind at the EU/NI border.

I can not see how it could be a guarantee if one of the signatories to the guarantee can unilaterally walk away from it.

Common sense in my view.

Re: Anyone remember this

It takes too much trust as we have lost trust in both EU and Uk government I think it's a step too far to expect us to see it as common sense as we think they will do their damnedest to keep us in.

Yes, you might have read that in the Telegraph, last week, when Boris was drawing comparisons between the Appeasers and the Remainers.

He told that story and highlighted how difficult it had been to get Winston into power.

Perhaps a portent of how it will go for Boris.

Good Luck to him. At least he's on the leaver side.

No, I don't read the torygraph, I've seen the film clip on television often enough over the years.
