I live in a small Kentish village a couple of miles from the M20 motorway which is constantly awash with huge lorries driving up from Dover. How many immigrants are packed into the back, or indeed clinging to the underside, of many of these vehicles I wonder. But having said that it is still one the most beautiful counties in the country.

My son lived in Maidstone for nine months and he had a lovely garden flat. He enjoyed his time there. The weather always seemed to be nice
